Brainspotting

Negative thoughts keep you from moving forward.

You are stuck. It feels awful, frustrating, and confusing.

Maybe you know why? Perhaps it was an accident, a traumatic childhood event, or childhood in general.

Maybe you don’t know why. You just know that you don’t follow through on your goals, you have an unhealthy pattern in relationships, or you feel like you are never good enough.

Focus beyond the pain.

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone who is telling you a painful story and while telling it, they are staring at a spot on the floor or in space? Their eyes seem glued to that spot.

They might be connected to what’s called a Brainspot. This is an eye position that connects to memories, thoughts, and emotions.

By intentionally tapping into this Brainspot, combined with bilateral stimulation and the help of a trained Brainspotting therapist, one can heal traumatic experiences and negative emotions.

Allow your brain to heal from negative emotions.

Brainspotting is a brain-body therapy that targets the part of the brain where trauma and negative emotions are stored.

Talk therapy targets parts of the brain that control thoughts and memories. While both are effective, brain-body therapies like Brainspotting can often produce results more quickly.

Brainspotting and bilateral stimulation help the process of healing by tapping into the brain’s innate ability to heal itself with the aid of a spot in the visual field that connects to an emotion or memory, while alternating right/left stimulation, such as eye movements.

Pain from the past is released.

Benefits of Brainspotting include desensitizing one to emotional triggers and understanding the underlying causes of emotional disturbances and negative beliefs.

Additionally, through this treatment, one can rewire the brain, decreasing or diminishing troubling symptoms while letting go of the past.

Benefits both mind and body.

Brainspotting has been found to be an effective treatment for trauma, unprocessed grief, anxiety, depression, compulsive and addictive behaviors, physical pain, and low self-esteem.
